About the Artist

Meowdy! I'm Gretchen, a 24 year old artist based in Southeast Michigan. My affinity for anthropormorphic animal characters started young, from a childhood obsession with The Lion King and Warrior Cats, and I've been involved in the online art community since I was ten.

I became interested in fursuits in 2018, and made my first fursuit part, a pair of handpaws, from some cheap craft fur, and was hooked! I started making premades and taking commissions and established Aeluromancy, and I have been making fursuits full time since 2021. My fursona/mascot, Paska, pictured here, is a cat, to no one's surprise!

I have a degree in genetics, and while I'm not exactly tinkering in the lab these days, my interest in the diversity of colors and patterns animals can display ties these two passions together. I find inspiration in nature, pets food, pop culture, and whatever else I see day-to-day that makes me think, "I can make a fursuit based off of these colors!"

When I'm not busy making costumes I enjoy knitting, drawing, collaging, and even some non-crafty hobbies like playing games with friends and fostering kittens. I am also involved in my local furry community and enjoy vending at conventions. At home, my cats Piper and Flora keep me company and do their best to distract me from whatever project I'm working on.
